Tourism and leisure on Belle-Ile-en-Mer

Locmaria, the sea and the countryside

Come and discover Locmaria, the highest point on the island. Explore the village and small hamlets in contrasting landscapes, between the peaceful beaches, the wild coast and farming land.

Discover Locmaria, the south-eastern part of Belle-Ile. Here you will find plenty of large beaches ideal for watersports. You  can choose between Port Andro beach, Samzun and the Grands Sables (2 km).

Hiking enthusiasts can climb to the top of the hills to Pouldon point and Saint Marc point, two invigorating hikes which offer a stunning view over the coast.
Heritage wise, you can visit Locmaria's church home to a 17th century chancel and an 18th century pepper pot steeple.
